Better in theory than practiced. What you give your offspring should always be a personal responsibility. I don't want some government enforcing who can breed no matter how dumb the cattle are because it's a slippery slope to not allowing me to breed. I'm all for a group to selectively breed their own line of ubermench spawn though. That'd be cool to see what could be done like dog breeding.

it's really difficult to decide what is desirable. at any point there are multiple evolutionary paths we can take. we can become more eusocial or less eusocial, more "quantity" or more "quality", etc. who is to decide what's best?
for anything other than dominant single allele diseases it's too risky. high biodiversity is always better even if the population is less fit

That's not an honest argument.
And, whether you like it or not, the government agrees with him and not you, even when genetic disorders are an issue.
