This is inaccurate.
Suppose we meet another civilisation many millions of light years away.
Their observations and archives would have details not known to us as they used to have a slightly different observational universe.
Sure you can't see what lies beyond with your own eyes, but you can acquire scientific data this way from other civilisations.
