That was you'll be more ready for the material and be ahead of your peers, which helps immensely with motivation. You doing well = you get motivated and do even better. You doing badly, struggling to catch up = loss of motivation and you fall behind even further. So make sure to always stay at least a bit ahead of the curve. Simple as.
