The Big bang theory comes from a Catholic Priest and it threw the atheists at the time for a loop because they had been trying to say that the universe was infinite for a while. So when the Priests logic made sense, our new modern day atheists started calling Christians stupid(mostly protestants because Catholics are fine with the big bang since they invented the idea), for not believing that the universe was randomly formed.

There's nothing anti-religion about the big bang theory whatsoever. Scientists do not have a fucking good explanation for how all the energy got converted into stars and planets. They just know it all had to start somewhere at some time and the science supports that.

That's the fun of it, yes. Guessing, and explaining why your guess is a good guess. Then hearing other people's guesses, and their explanations of why theirs is a good guess. And then we argue about it. That's what we enjoy doing. That's the whole process. It keeps our brains sharp, and has a side-benefit of enabling a lot of cool technologies. At no point in our process do we demand Truth. That's just not part of what we do as scientists.

If you want Truth, then you can find that in a church, maybe, I don't know. Truth isn't a very interesting concept to me. What if we know it? Then what? Like, we didn't even have to develop new ways of thinking to figure out Truth-- it was just handed to us. I guess there will be some engineering work for a few people after that, but it'll all be wrapped up in a century at most. Then what? Brain rot? I can't imagine anything more boring.

It's not a dead end, at all! WTF?! It's the beginning of a billion questions. Did it only happen that once? Is it still happening anywhere? How could we know? What do we need to be able to investigate this? How does it happen? Can we make it happen, and use the energy?

Jesus! That one idea takes us all the way from noticing there are stars to fusion reactors! How do you not see that? There's still so much untapped potential, and so much we can't even imagine, yet.

But again, this is not Truth! This is the hunt! If you are interested in eating, doing nothing, and getting fat, go to church. If you are interested in hunting and killing, come to science.
