How do I calculate how much blood I would have to drink from an animal to absorb 1 cup of water, or does the variable remain the same cross species?

What? You would think drinking blood wouldn't give you much water, considering the salt and such, but yet people have survived dehydration by drinking blood and I would like to know the specifics of how this was achieved.

blood is 90 percent water with the last 10 percent being proteins and the such, and off guessing most animals being the same structure of proteins, then the blood must not have a big variation between species. id say go for 1 cup itself, 1.1-2 if you want to be sure.

there is 9g of salt per liter of blood. there's 35g/l in salt water. also the salt would eventually sit after the heart stops pumping. essentially its still hydrating but also sickening.

There is water in the belly of animals. Below their stomach is another bag where they store half digested grass. If you squeeze the grass, a lot of water comes out. Disgusting tho, but will allow you to survive a few days
