Anyone else think it's strange how big of a disconnect there is between science and it's actual application. Trades pretty much all benefit from scientific advancements, but trademen generally don't care about the science behind their work, and they are frequently anti-science nuts jobs. Likewise, scientists spend their entire life learning about at a niche subject, while remaining completely clueless about the difficulties involved with applying that subject in the real world. Like how to source something, how to keep costs down, what brand of machine to use; scientists have zero interest in these type of problems. Engineers are also notorious for designing parts without any consideration for how a machinist is eventually going to make it. How did we get to this point?
