Regarding IQ in general, you need a high IQ to actually build new shit the world has never seen before, synthesize complex information, and things like that. If you're just looking to be some wagie engineer at a random company, you just need to have an average IQ (or more specifically non-retardation) and be able to stick to a task. If you're mildly attractive physically and/or the way you carry yourself, you'll probably even beat out people with 10-15 IQ points higher than you.
