I'm an undergraduate student on the second/third year of physics and I'm trying to find what field should I follow in my future, currently I'm thinking about following the field of the professor I'm working with, but I have some questions:

The topic that I'm studying (Transport in Strongly Correlated Quantum Systems) and just a little about particle are the only topics I kwow about

>How do I know if still a ''hot'' topic?
I don't need a super accurate prediction about who will be the next Nobel prize winner I just don't wanna regret in the future and lose time
