Its like asking why modern lefties worship science, but then criticize the enlightenment and say stuff like mathematics, science, gender, reality, etc. is a social construct. People like to eat their cake and have it too. Besides, I don't think it's as contradictory as it might appear. As an intellectual process, science and the enlightenment have stimulated a lot of intellectual, cultural, scientific, and philosophical development. But it has also resulted in the growth of capitalism, the complete domination of reductionist epistemology, nihilism, the destruction of the environment, atomization of the individual, economic inequality, etc.
