Big bang is a fast acceleration from 14 billion years ago. You can trace it back and calculate how small the universe was, if it was small then density and heat comes from the large energy it had.
Why it happened? No one knows.
What was before it? No one knows.
If you understand the physics of it, then you would agree that it happened if you don't understand the physics if it then trust people who do understand it or better yet, study physics and understand it yourself!
Real scientists aren't against religions, science doesn't involve itself in religion. People/scientists who do only do it to get attention, but that is not science it is only a human seeking attention.
