I was prescribed opioids after I had dental surgery and this shit sucks. I have no clue how people get addicted to it. It killed the pain but it wasn’t euphoric at all. It made me feel weird and very nauseous.

Mine have never been less than 35mg. I'm surprised they even do anything for pain. An Ibuprofen would work better.

They produce anhedonia/nihilistic feeling when you stop taking them. Usually this is manageable if you’re using them as prescribed but apparently if you’re not, it’s pretty bad.

You literally just described benzodiazepines. Benzos do not really produce euphoria, they delete anxiety, not pain.

There's a fair bit of individuality in how people react to them. Drugs are prescribed as though everyone's the same which doesn't work very well even within closely related families.
Anecdotally I feel nothing, I don't even get noticeable pain reduction from opioids and they make my gf feel very nauseous so she won't even take them.
And yet I have an uncle that became an opioid addict.

The effects of taking them when in pain are not the same as when taken while not in pain. People generally get addicted by taking them on a schedule rather than when they are in pain.
