The tiles that did come off did so because the vent force was from the underside of the tile. When the valve opened, the force was able to rush underneath the tiles, and they are engineered to withstand forces from outside.
That being said, Max-Q will probably not be nice to the current edges of the tiles. But again, rapid iteration and revisions are major highlights for SpaceX. I expect this test will give them a fair amount of data to build tiles that will cleanly terminate the edges.
