I think it's because many traditionally feminine jobs like nursing, teaching, secretary, etc. now require some level of college education. All of the girls I knew from high school who didn't go to college are working in beauty salons

Actually its the complete opposite men get affirmative action now for college admissions since its so low. There was a whole report on it. They of course didn't make a whole show of the affirmative action but do it silently.

With all due respect, I find this very hard to believe (but can you blame me?). There must be some kind of catch like only giving it to men that are racial minorities or something. I have never seen any program with funding involved that explicitly favors men (as a whole).
