First write it out properly, ideally on a sheet of paper.

This is a system of equations.

The simple strategy is called substitition.
You need to start replacing variables until you end up with an equation w/only one variable and a constant. You do this by reforming equations so one side of an equation exists in another equation. You can swap out the equalities to effectively merge two equations into one.

get a by itself in eq2
a + c - b = 4
a = 4 - c + b

Replace the a in eq 1 with the right side above
a + b + c = 34
(4 - c + b) - c + b = 34
2b + 4 = 34
b = 15

Once you find one variable, you can substitute it into the others to solve for the rest. :)

easiest method is to use Gauss Jordan Elimination to get it into Reduced Row Echelon Form then ust read off the values.

It's 20. You can get to the solution quite easily without solving for all the unknowns using some simple tactics.
