I went to the dentist today for the first time in 15 years. I don't brush my teeth, except about once a week which I mainly do to remove any visible grime and freshen my breath before going out with friends.
Despite the aforementioned facts, I didn't have any cavities. The dentist then cleaned my teeth using a tiny pressure washer which sprayed a slurry of water and fine abrasive media, which caused my gums to bleed. I'm afraid that my teeth had a protective coating of natural buildup which was preventing them from decaying, and the dentist blasted it all off, leaving the vulnerable and sensitive bare teeth exposed. Did I make a huge mistake?
