Having an IQ in the 120s makes you qualified for engineering, computer science, programming, etc. Also, there are loads of people on the left of the curve with 90s and 80s who have pretty good lives. You really shouldn’t be complaining. Very, very few have the blessing of being actual geniuses. Just live and do what interests you.

According to the mainstream consensus, it is sorta set in stone. BUT, some anon in another thread did link a study where they possibly proved that aerobic exercise increased IQ notably. That same anon anecdotally said it increased his by a whole standard deviation by doing 30-40 mins of aerobic exercise daily for 5 days a week. I’ll try finding the study and the post and post it here when I get a chance. Have to go take care of some things.

I'll try looking some more for it, but no guarantees. Hopefully you can fish it out if it's in archive somewhere on the webs. It contains an anon who links an article on aerobic exercise and improvement. Anon also claims that the subjects only did treadmill exercises which 'basically walking' compare to actual running outside. He did 30-40 mins of running or something 5 days every week. That takes time to condition your body for, so proceed with caution if you go for that like I am. I'm skinny but out of shape to the point I sound like I have asthma when I breathe.

this test is deflated and matrix reasoning is only 1 sub test of the entire 19 sub tests for knowing your FSIQ. So basing your intelligence on this test alone isn't sound, you'll have a better idea of where you are if you take the queendom classical iq test (a fsiq predictor)

Firstly, there is no consensus on anything substantive about IQ. Secondly, there is definitely no consensus that IQ is "set in stone". There is every indication that you can train for every IQ test I've ever seen, whatever the degree of advantage that confers might be.

That's a meme IQ test. Only the last question is somewhat demanding, but it's somewhat demanding in a brain-teaser way, not a proper IQ-test way. I solved it because I'd been exposed to similar puzzles in brain-teaser books.

I really fucking hate how these tests always use these dumb ass picture puzzles and have extremely unintuitive and arbitrary rules you're just supposed to figure out, "oh you silly willy you were actually supposed to count the number of corners and correctly surmise that the polygons in row 2 were the fibonacci sequence :)" eat my fucking ass.
These things are just puzzles you'd read to pass the time, by far the biggest factor that comes into play when determining how many you can solve is if you've done a bunch of them before, so you know what rules to look for like this guy said >>13684426

A good matrix shows the logical sequence first, then again, then you are supposed to do it.
It actually does it 4 times because of the rows if its actually well constructed, but they usually aren't. Sometimes you need to actually look at both.
Regardless, your example is exaggerated and unrealistic.
Intelligence is not about seeing the intuitive, it's about figuring out complexity (for the most part).
If they were all intuitive then you'd and everyone else would get them all right and it wouldn't really be an intelligence test would it?

by repeatedly doing iq tests your friend just got good doing them. Coincidently, he also did aerobic exercises, which however didn't contribute more than 10-15%. Also your friend is just as stupid as before, he just got better at solving iq questions. IQ tests aren't magic. You can practice, learn and get better at them.

Forgot to mention, he didn’t do IQ tests themselves. He got the equivalent IQ score from entrance exam for some type of school. I suppose you can also intuitively feel your intelligence rise when things just click easier, but that’s a random thought I have.

I have done iq tests when I was normal and turbo depressed. I always hated these tests with passion because of adhd. A minor disturbance would reset my thought process.

To cut story short, first time I scored 135 after somehow plowing through it and by the end i just shot last few answers because i didnt want to bother with it.

Second time i tried to do it in depressed anxious crying state and I scored 90.

Iq test is basic brain test. Anything above average does not indicate shit. Only that if you are below 90, something is wrong with your basic logical reasoning

A psychologist did a test on me that spanned a few days, I got like 108 in different intelligence factors, yet I effortlessly am studying Math on my third year, where supposedly the median is something above 130. So why am I at the top of somewhere with a median of 130 if I am 108? bs tests lol
