Africans generally have "negative buoyancy", because they never traveled by boats. The unique genetic diversity in the continent is an indication they never traveled outside their local habitation for up to ten thousand years.

There isn't any interbreeding to speak of, it looks like most of the tribes just stayed put, resulting in incredible genetic diversity among Africans.
I'll bet you a pretty penny the tribes that lived close to the shore have less dense bones.
