Are matter just knots in the fabric of spacetime? Or like a zipper "sucking in" space causing gravity while it moves in the spacetime fabric?

The theories we have regarding physical phenomena like gravity are just useful models that can help predict what will happen; they don't really describe the exact mechanism by which gravity works. We don't know why particles 'cause' gravity.

I mean, the crux of quantum mechanics is wave-particle duality. We have both particle and wave-based models that work for gravity and they're useful for different things.

OP might just be asking for an analogy for gravity wrt. non-exotic matter (i.e. how can I visualize gravity). The usual visualization most people use for classical gravity is the rubber sheet.
