In order to talk about sets as some objects that you can make with ZFC, you need first to explain what is the relation between ZFC and the objects that it supposedly talks about, to go beyond meaningless strings, which is the question to begin with. Some mathematicians claim that ZFC talks about something, and the question is what? What are these "sets"?
