>dream recall
when you wake up, don't move. lay perfectly still and immediately start trying to remember as much of your dream as you can. the second you start moving, you'll start to forget your dream.
essentially, since dreams occur in a subconscious mindstate which differs from the conscious mindstate, you can technically only recall dreams while in that subconscious mindstate. When you first wake up, like the second you wake up and you're in that phase where you're unaware of where you are and whatnot, you're still halfway in that subconscious mindstate. The second you start moving around like normal, your brain activates its conscious mindstate thereby deactivating the subconscious mindstate and losing your dream. utilize the first few seconds when you're awake to bridge the subconscious and conscious mindstates; try to stay still as long as possible to stay in that subconscious mindstate so you can recall your dream and transfer it to your conscious mindstate.
Also vitamins B6 and B12 help with vivid dreams, which will inherently be easier to remember
