I understand the idea, you're often outdoors, physically active, doing masculine, respectable work. Things are simple, you work with your body and your mind is clear to contemplate life.
They don't understand the reality of it. As someone who spent his 20s working in the construction and then shipping industry, believe me, you don't want it. Your frail soi body will not be able to handle it, and all your coworkers are going to either be mexicans who try to get you fired so their cousin can get your job or rough and rowdy white trash methheads who think you're a fag.
