>>13667130I think you misunderstand the word sterilize here. There are two types of immunity- sterilizing immunity, and effective immunity. Effective immunity can be thought of taking an tylenol when you have a flu, It lessens the symptoms but, as we all know, there is no cure for the flu, the virus is still there, replicating inside the body, and why someone still stays home after they take the symptom relief.
Sterilizing immunity, on the otherhand, can be thought of as penicillin for a bacterial infectio. It goes in there, destroys the bacterium, leaving no survivors. The symptoms disappear because there is no pathogen to cause them.
Sterilizing vaccines are a holy grail of vaccination for a reason. Very few accomplish this task. The covid injection is not special, there is no mechanism of action that attests to the destruction of the virus, just that it preps the immune response in anticipation of infection to prevent severe symptoms. While marketing departments may provide a photo of it going off a cliff with a close up of a rear spoiler, and make some silver tongued claims, one does not expect it to fly.
Even with CT thresholds for injected patients being lower than uninjected, they cannot find sterilizing immunity
>Outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 Infections, Including COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough Infections, Associated with Large Public Gatherings — Barnstable County, Massachusetts, July 2021, there was no significant difference between the Ct values of samples collected from breakthrough cases and the other cases. This might mean that the viral load of vaccinated and unvaccinated persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 is also similar
>Delta variant renders herd immunity from Covid ‘mythical’“The Delta variant will still infect people who have been vaccinated. And that does mean that anyone who’s still unvaccinated at some point will meet the virus … and we don’t have anything that will [completely] stop that transmission.”
