The problem is in the first step.
Since $4 < \frac{9}{2}$ then $4 - \frac{9}{2} \neq |4 - \frac{9}{2}|$

4-9/2 is negative so you need the negative root.
the calculation uses the positive root.

The problem is that that's not the definition of i.
It's $i = (0,1)$ so $i^2 = (0,1)*(0,1) = (0-1, 0-0)$

Yeah, given the length of the calculations, I was prepping for some subtle novelty buried in there, but got to the first square root sign and thought "can't be -1/2, done."
