I'm specializing in bioinformatics since biotech and genetic engineering are going to be a huge growth industry over the next few decades, especially as boomers burn all their savings on life extension moonshots.

Why bioinformatics specifically? I mean instead of biotech, genetic engineering...etc.

I am (more into biotech but I have taken every biochem course at my uni). I would say it is worth it if you have keen interests in the overall field. I really like receptor-biology and membrane proteins. Structural biology is also a lot of fun/challenging.
When it comes to specific topics, you have to find your own interest senpai.
