I'm a dumbo trying to understand quantum mechanics. I've watched a decent bunch of videos but no one explains:

1. What does it mean that the collapse happens when we "observe it"? How is the observation happening, and why is it not the observation machine the one that is causing the interference?

2. If the observation is indeed when we look at it, is it not like video games, where objects are being rendered when the camera points at them?
