Statistics become relevant only when it's possible to compare them with case studies.
We can't study a universe that collapsed in itself because there's not an us in it to observe, nor are we able to observe it from outside because it doesn't exist.
The universe could be the result of ab absolute probability of one in a trillion trillion cases of everything going just right, but that's still no reason to believe in multiverse. Because the only relevant case study to us is all there is.
(Also in probability it's different saying, like, in 1 billion coin throws you'll get 500 million heads, and saying that deviation is impossible. Different likelihoods, same logic. It might be unlikely but it happened.)
