>>13657479>>The horse-drawn carriage industry is a 2 trillion dollar industry that many other industries depend on.Holy shit! I didn't know the horse-drawn carriage industry can refine petroleum products and petrochemicals that pervade society and every other industry known to man used for plastics, jet fuel, synthetic rubber, tires, pharmaceutical drugs, asphalt, solar panels, wind turbines, lithium batteries and electric vehicles, polyester, paint, etc.
>Why would it?I don't know ask yourself because that's what you're suggesting, replacing fossil fuels...
>Has the oil industry stopped as it lost market share to renewables and nuclear? No, because it is a 2 trillion dollar industry
>Have markets crashed? It fucking would if you try to "quickly" replace fossil fuels. Look at the examples provided for a smaller scale, comparatively minuscule scale model of what has happened when oil markets crash
>Then why would it if this process continues? What process?
>Braindead strawman. It's not a strawman. You said "replacing fossil fuels will not stop economic growth" when, for lack of better articulation, modern economic growth has been based around the use of fossil fuels. By replacing fossil fuels, you would be removing the underpinning holding this whole incredibly intricate and advanced global economy together and we'd be back to the pre-industrial era or some steampunk type world. Essentially, you are undervaluing the economic superiority of fossil fuels.
