After spending eighteen days in space, cosmonauts Andrian Nikolajev and Vitali Sevastjanov still haven't fully adapted to living on Earth, even though it has been five days since their return. This was in Soviet newspapers on Wednesday, and for the first time a slight tone of disappointment can be heard from otherwise praising articles.
"Humans adapting back to normal gravity after long spaceflights seems to be everything but easy" said the cosmonauts doctor on Pravda.
The heart functions and blood circulation has shown to be a bit unstable. Their muscles have atrophied, and they must be massaged, Nikolajev has lost a kilo of weight and Sevastjanov two. In addition both men complain that the beds are difficult to sleep in after long exposure to weightlessness.
None of the problems seem too worrying, but new tests have shown to be inevitable.
Pravda hinted, that the next space mission would last over a month.
