The first and foremost important thing in dreaming is melatonin, supplementation can work short term but long term it's not a viable option so you're going to need to learn how to produce a lot of it. The most important things are.
>Cold pitch black room>Lots of light exposure during the day>No food 4 hours before bed (inhibits melatonin production)Fixing these three will make your dreams much more vivid than any supplement, there's a lot of other smaller things you can do but they're not as important.
As for supplements, zinc and nicotine have already been mentioned quite a bit, proper niacin levels are also important. You can also take melatonin supplements on top of all this, but it's best to not do it too often. I know it may also sound /x/-tier, but you should look into decalcifying the pineal gland, as it effects melatonin production.
If you want to have incredibly intense dreams every 2nd night then you can also just block REM sleep (by smoking weed or doing edibles) and/or sleeping less than 6 hours, then sleeping 9+ the next day.
You can also induce sleep paralsys by eating a massive meal and then sleeping on your back, I'd highly recommend trying it out at least once (as long as you don't have any heart condition).
