>>13658456if someone is detached from reality, hearing crime related news will only encourage them to do something similar on the grounds of "if this person/group got away with it and made it to the news, then so can I"
that was just an example
imagine being in a group of 100 people with all of them fightind and screaming. if you did the same, there are low chances that some third party would directly target you instead of the other 100 people
it makes you blend better and, because there is unexplainable violence going on, it is a good idea not to stand out so you dont get targeted by the others (for being seen as an easy target or something like that)
what I just described happens all the time in society, but in a more discrete and larger scale
like other anon said, ghettos are a good case study, and those fit this example while still maling sense
on the other hand, i dont think a sane, intelligent human would use violence on the news as an excuse to behave violently himself
even if you go watch cartel torture videos on liveleak or something, you are rational enough to know that such behavior is not normal
stupid person sees shootout footage and thinks "wow this the whole world"
its the inability to grasp how large and complex life is, and is proportional to social conformoty (a nigger breaking the law because he was pressured by the homies because he is easily presuaded and dumb)
of course, theres also the genuine psychopaths but their need to harm others has always been there, and violence in media need not be their trigger to go out and do it
