Do you think telling children with higher IQ "you can be whatever you want when you grow up" and lauding them for putting in minimal effort in (public) school and graduating top of class is destructive? IG this is the same as my sat score in high school (1400, 97th percentile)

so basically im smart enough to be considered smart by the average joe, not smart enough to do anything with it

1400 SAT correlates to an iq of 137. It also depends on how many practice tests you’ve taken to inflate your final score

I took the SAT after the revision in 2016. So yeah the sat scores are heavily inflated since 1996 when 1400 probably corelated with 137 iq

Mensa no longer considers the SAT, ACT, or GRE to be IQ test analogues. There's probably a casual relationship between IQ and college admission tests but the tests are much more focused on knowledge than intelligence than they used to be.

I know, but on Wikipedia the SATs correlation to g is .75, JP said it’s .85 so I don’t fuckijg know. I think it’s deflated

This is correct as prepping for the SAT's through practice testing from middle school to the SAT test itself leads to overestimated results. The same goes for taking IQ tests over and over as you'll eventually start to understand the test mechanics, though only to a point I suppose. I doubt anyone scoring 160 on valid tests is <145IQ. It'd be hard to believe at least.
