>>13643919That's a possible scenario, but not one in vogue at the moment. Current prediction is that gravity is not strong enough to overcome the expansion of the universe, and so stuff will stay more or less tha same for hundreds of trillions of years while the stars go out, (possibly) black holes evaporate, and eventually protons decay, if they indeed do.
But we are missing crucial components of the math needed to definitely support any end of the universe theory. We just don't really know.
