>>13642117>>13642885>>13642939>Nuclear fusion is the answer.THIS. We already worked out viable fusion tech like 50 fucking years ago and it's the cleanest and highest yielding energy solution by an enormous margin. It's called PACER. You basically just explode H-bombs in an underground vat of molten salt and use the heat to run a turbine. There you go, fusion power production beyond all your wildest dreams.
The nice thing about the molten salt business too is that you can put it deep in a mountain, or deep underground, and when you stop blowing up the bombs, it solidifies into a solid block trapping the radioactivity in a safe place where it will decontaminate itself over geological time scales.
This shit actually fucking works as engineering (it's old technology), and it is the only readily economical and engineeringwise useful path to fusion power. It is 95% fusion energy even for small bombs. It was immediately calculated to be cost-effective the day it was proposed, it has only gotten cheaper since. A nuclear warhead costs about $300,000 in mass production, and easily delivers a megaton of energy. The only reason it is politically impossible today is due to proliferation worries and fears of use of the bomb as weapons.
