Why is race a social construct?

How can race not exist biologically? Aren't blacks of darker color because of their biology? Why is it a social construct? Are there any articles that still consider biological races or is it entirely discredited?

science is all about demarcation, grouping ultimately arbitrary attributes/characteristics together and regarding them as constituting a "whole", a distinct "thing" separating it from the rest of material reality. there is a "thing" and then there is "other", not that "thing". what different groups of people collectively perceive as a thing is socially constructed based on culture, shared history, shared experiences. one tribe calls that wisp of smoke a ghost, a spirit - that is as real to them as another groups perception of that thing being, "smoke" from a fire, say. just as real. ultimately nothing "exists" in this reality other than immediate raw sensation in the present moment, everything else is neurotic models and concepts overlayed to help us survive by labelling our surrounding environment with recognisable and comforting ideas and beliefs. gender and race is no different.

I'm saying the demarcations are in no way objective, set in stone somewhere, universal, unwavering. those demarcations are always and will forever be subject to change. what determines the current perception of what constitutes a particular "thing"? society. it's socially constructed. write a list of what white constitutes and you'll get a plethora of contradictions thrown at you. science tries it's best to throw a net around the IDEA of there being such a thing as race, it will list you biological attributes. never forget that what you are hearing is a MODEL for you to use in order to perceive a standalone object separate from the "other". It's a mental construct. there are countless examples of scientific "things" like miasma that now simply don't exist because we have simply decided that that model isn't useful, the box of attributes was upturned and thrown out.

Also this classification while similar to the one spouted by the laymen of that time is not the same and plenty of times there was religious and social undertones to how humans classified groups. I.e. even if some scientists did try to give a rigorous classification this was not the same as the way normal people saw different groups. I.e. tribe A says tribe B is more prone to X not because of science but because of social customs and myths that are passed down. Is there a possible classification of human races today? That is complicated because today in a globalized world humans are pretty mixed up, what is clear though is that the typical classification of humans by colour of skin and continental origin is complete bs. Yes there could be some grouping, but the problem is that the amount of variability within traditional groups means this grouping cannot really be of biological interest. I.e. you would end up with shit like black and white people but from the northwest of the country and black and white and mexican from the south or something dumb like that. I.e. it doesn't align with the socially constructed "races" we use on a daily basis. And no fucking IQ tests are not biological parameters. And yes sometimes race is used for purely phenotypical characterisations but for populations that are isolated from each other which is again sometime modern humans have eliminated. Now if you want to explain why Black people in the do in general worse than white people that has nothing to do with race because achieving is already a socially relative thing. That is there is nothing natural about achieving in an academic system that was invented in fucking Prussia in the 19th century.
