So what? Let's assume I can only be sure of my own existence like he proposes. What difference does that make? This "illusion" of other things existing still follows rules. Still follows laws. I can still study them. It's all the same. Whether OP is some illusion my brain is hallucinating or not, it doesn't matter. He still follows the laws of physics of my illusion. And in that illusion, where things follow those laws of physics, there is no reason to assume my consciousness is something so special that it can't be replicated, or tied in some way.
