A particularly powerful one can strip a good portion of the ozone layer and expose us to UV light which causes muh skin cancerino, but of course you can take shelter or use sunscreen. If it comes down to it, there is going to be mass production of sun screen (like with masks when it comes to coronavirus) and there will be ramped up research against skin cancer (like with vaccines).
Coronavirus was like mini end of the world and we've seen how that looks like. A solar flare would cause trillions of dollars in damage and certainly a lot of people would die due to dependence on the technology but all technology can be repaired and human race cannot go extinct because of it.
