Likely OP faggotry aside, I knew at once what the purpose of the hash was.
It's a good way to prove later that you had knowledge of something at a particular time without having to reveal that knowledge at that particular time.
For instance, suppose you prove an important math conjecture/hypothesis but you're a fatass or your life isn't otherwise ready for the instant headline fame and math pussy. A cryptographic hash lets you prove time of discovery and therefore priority when you're ready to go balls deep in future.
