Is this true or not? Should I use natural vitamin C source like acerola instead of ascorbic acid?

It's the same thing. It was given the name anti-scorbutic acid because of its anti-scorbutic effects. The article says that there are better sources of vitamin C than citrus fruits, which is true. But, you don't need more than 100mg a day, which can be provided by fresh citrus and raw green leafy vegetables. It also mentions needing minerals and other vitamins, which is true. Just eat a normal balanced diet and you'll be fine.

Not true. Many other animals can synthesize vitamin c, aka ascorbic acid. Also, I looked at the article, and the author is focused on co-factors. Studies have shown that co-factors do little to boost ascorbic acid absorption or improve its function. Of course there's always some interplay with vitamins and minerals, and you can get all of that from a decent diet. You can certainly take a whole-food vitamin c supplement, but they're overpriced for what you're getting.
