You know that energy in = energy out, right? Assuming the lever is a perfect, rigid bar, of course. So, energy in = angle displaced * torque = angle displaced * effort * moment arm = angle displaced * load * moment arm = energy out. Because the angle displaced on either side of the fulcrum is the same, and only the moment arms differ in length, then you can be sure the load and efforts differ.
