as you take the limit of this geometric series you will clearly see that it converges to 1. the midwits who say 0.999... does not equal 1 clearly have no concept of the infinite. there is nothing after infinity. when you take the difference of 1.000... - 0.999... you will end up with 0.000... , with no little 1 at the end. there is nothing that can come after an infinite sequence of digits by definition.
