The point of eating is nourishment.
That’s the intrinsic reason we eat. The goodness of the act is that nourishment. Humans like good things as a general rule. Often we are biologically and socially programmed to obtain pleasure or satisfaction from obtaining goodness - high energy food tastes good, sex is pleasurable, money (which in turn allows for safety and shelter) is desirable. But because of that, it is easy to conflate goodness with the things that come alongside it.
Eating not for the sake of nourishment but for the pleasure of it is harmful. It’s called gluttony - and is a massive problem effecting the western world, America in particular. That’s not to say that eating shouldn’t be pleasurable, and everyone should go for insect paste and water - the pleasure itself isn’t the issue. Where problems arise is when the goal of performing the act switches from goodness (attaining nourishment) to seeking pleasure.
