Unrelated but as an international I've noticed that Berkeley is about as expensive for me as the top Ivies. Why is that? I thought public unis were supposed to be cheaper.

For residents of that state yes, other pay full ride like a private uni.

If you are a Californian who was rejected by CAL/UCLA, you can go to a reject UC or CSU school, and many times you will have been accepted by a out of state flagship public uni or a low level Ivy or similar.

Case in point - Chris Schwarzenegger - rejected by CAL/UCLA - but accepted by Michigan. Arnie was happy to pay 300K USD for Chris' education.

UC schools have no race based affirmative action. White and Asian losers coping with getting rejected by a UC because of non URM status is retarded. That shit goes for private schools like ivys or graduate schools like med or law.
And that only counts for blacks and hispanics, any other "minority" gets nothing and is treated like white or Asian applicants.
