have a pretty clear recollection of
TWiT.tv with Leo Laporte talking about this around when it was first brought to attention. it was described as (paraphrasing of course, this was a while ago) "like a guy who was very active, probably played football in highschool, but has allowed himself to gain some weight as his priorities have shifted with maturity(idealy now focussing on raising your children)". the important part is that he always maintains a complete aura of strength and stability. this is even enforced by his apparent lack of vanity.
some time along the way this has been hijacked,co-opted,whatever, by retards who don't get it/dont care. one of those funny franchise gyms reportedly had a sign or something advertising like that may have enforced this.
