Portia spiders have better angular resolution on their vision than a cat. Their intelligence is pretty damn impressive too, but I just think it's hilarious how a spider that small has such good vision compared to another predator much, much larger than it.

Using neurotoxins for your venom is pretty badass. Kind of amazing how even the most painful insect stings on the Schmidt scale don't really hold a candle to what a black widow's bite can do to you.

Golden orbs spiders will make their web more visible with huge marks on them so that birds don't fly into it.

My understanding is that a black widow's venom can make your body feel wracked with pain for a whole day. Based on this video of this guy who let one get a good bite on him:

His reaction was much worse than letting wasps bite him, the pain wasn't as bad in the moment but he felt awful afterward for quite some time.
