something unfun is when you have to find the line between legal and 'illegal' and actually illegal.
a surprising amount of things aren't actually illegal as you'd imagine, somewhat like jaywalking. my grandmother got a ticket once, and my grandfather talked to a neighbor who was a cop, knew the guy who gave her the ticket. guess who's ticket disappeared?
it's fucking horrible and i hate it, especially because it can collapse at any moment and a lot of it is hard to really define or know it's safe, but you have to be willing to break laws/norms to get ahead in society today. don't be obvious, try to learn the sense of it, the gist of what will work and what will end up putting you down.
you have to learn how to do this stuff without being a criminal idiot showing up to the job only for the staff to call you an idiot who's just been terminated, almost as fast as you came.
