How do I get good at math? I am 20 and I've never been great with math but always managed to just get by. This semester I am taking discrete math and I'm not even a week in and already over my head. Something about truth tables is just not clicking for me. Is it as simple as if I study really hard and get lots of tutoring I can get good at math?

I've recently started learning Mathematics from Algebra. It's not that I never learned it, it's just that I feel like I didn't cover it properly to fully understand it (although, you could argue that's the same as not learning it). The main thing that keeps me on track is a schedule and a goal. I focus on one chapter for four days. I sit down and focus on each section until I finish it. That might be too much if you've never self studied, so you might want to use 25 min of work, 5 min break, repeat. Eventually, you'll increase the amount of time working. Make sure to do problems (a few of each type), and get feedback. Try to understand why you got it wrong. If you still don't understand, ask someone. Where exactly is it that you struggle? The concepts, or the memorization portion?
