>>13609539I'm 25/M in the UK with a first-class (4.0 GPA) undergraduate degree in Philosophy. I love Philosophy, particularly logic, and have since worked in a tech field (was service desk, now security analyst).
I found that my interest in Philosophy lends itself well to Mathematics, which I frequently use and which I study in my free time outside of work (usually 1-2 hours a day and 2-3 hours on weekends). My study of Maths has led to me falling completely in love with the subject. Truly in love with it.
Through self-study I have a reasonable grasp of Linear Algebra, Analysis, Set Theory, and a bit of Topology.
I am in a position where I can afford to pursue a second degree in Mathematics while working in my current job. I believe that, in the longer term, it's more relevant to a tech career.
More importantly, a Maths degree would enable me to pursue postgraduate study (MSc or PhD) in fields including CS, AI, and the like, which I can't with a Phil BA.
On the flip side, I feel like I'm getting old now at 25 and it feels like I'd be ancient looking to do a Master's at 28.
