A judge's objective is to interpret the law in accordance with its principles which are vaguely defined and carry an ethical load. Every so often they will run into situations that are not properly covered by active regulations or jurisprudence in which case the basic principles of law will be the sole guiding factor in determining a solution. In other situations they will end up with difficult choices that can only come down to personal experience.
Adding up all the factors and attempting to spit out the single most efficient solution simply does not work in law, results will always vary depending on the case in question and the personality of the judge.
I don't think an AI will ever be capable of proper moral deliberation. Even in the case that they do reach such a level of complexity, people will never trust them with these arbitrary decisions.
