You dont need a biological difference to hate at a group. All you need is to mark them as "the other". It may be triggered by economic and social insecurity like when a company does personnel reduction.
Do humans like hierarchies or are they forced into them? Do men really want to be at the top or is that a learned behaviour and they would naturally enjoy being just one of the boys?

You can have a monoracial society as in Europe. Or you could have a multiracial society like we have in Latin America, but you need to ignore race and enforce a single sense of nationhood and culture (assimilation) and brainwash everyone into believing you are all a single people, otherwise it won't work. But this idea of a multiracial, multicultural, multiethnic society, with racial interest groups being a thing, racialized language in the media, race quotas at schools and universities... it will end badly burgerfrens. This is how you get Balkanization/Bosnia/South Africa.
