For what it’s worth, I try to be a good person. Not like trying to manipulate the world for political idealism, but just not giving the humans in my periphery too much shit if I can help it. I also pursue what I want to do in life and what feels fulfilling rather than what I feel obliged to do, but still trying to be responsible and career driven.
If post-death is just an empty void, no skin off my back. If there really is some kind of deity, creator, or afterlife, I would at least be able to make some compelling argument for my sanctity before I’m sent to hell. And if time really is just some big loop, then at least I am the human that I want to be over and over again.
